I realize I'm falling back into my old bad blogging habits, but there's just not a lot of extra time. I wanted to plant a few things in our small backyard, so pots was the only way to go. I planted lettuce, onions, and carrots (so far). It only took about 10 days for these little green things to sprout up. I was truly shocked because I do not have a green thumb. In fact, more like the black thumb of death. I bought a book and it's helped some, but I still don't really know what I'm doing. My mom always had a garden growing up, but I didn't really want anything to do with it, so this could be interesting. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to know when the veggies are ready to be picked, but this is the best way to figure it out- by trial and error.

We also got called to be Primary teachers in our ward- the 4 and 5 year olds! That's exactly the calling I wanted and I really like it so far. John teaches Elder's quorom on the 4th Sunday of the month (which of course was the first time we were supposed to teach), so I was on my own the first day. They are super cute and actually seem to be better behaved than the 7 year olds from a few weeks ago. And they seemed to know the answers much better too. I think we will enjoy it.

  1. Hi Krista!

I know how you feel about blogging; I just haven't felt like doing it as much this year.

Good luck with your garden! I'm terrified I'll kill something or do something wrong too. There are so many things that can go wrong with plants. I've tried finding a gardening forum or blogs that I really like but I haven't been successful yet.

It's really exciting seeing a plant you grew from seed change from day to day, isn't it? :)

I've heard tomatoes are really easy; I'm sure you can get a cherry tomato plant (for salads!) for pretty cheap at any of the garden centers in town if you want to try it out.

Have fun with your new church role!
