Thanksgiving and Lindsay's birthday

We had thanksgiving with the Winslow/Bradshaw family this year.  Since there are a lot of people, we had to do it at the coral canyon church.   The food was good and there were lots of (distant) cousins for Brynlee to play with.  We had fun visiting with everyone.  

It was also Lindsay's birthday so tried to celebrate that also ( the only picture I got that day)

Early the next morning Brynlee woke me up because she was sick.  She proceeded to throw up for the next 5 hours, then she was fine.   John was not feeling good either that night.  The following night was my turn for the stomach flu, which then lasted until Sunday morning.   Not so fun

My 32nd birthday

Wow, as always I can't believe I am this old.  My birthday is on a Sunday this year- which isn't too fun.  But I had to work Friday and Saturday so at least it wasn't one of those days.

Sunday morning Brynlee came in our room and the first thing she said was, "Happy birthday.  I love you mommy".  Talk about cute.  I am shocked she remembered that it was my birthday.
Bentley had been a pain in the butt the night before and wouldn't go to sleep until 2:30 AM, which meant John and I didn't go to sleep until then.  He didn't want to take a nap before church either, so John stayed home from church with him.  It was fun to be with just Brynlee.  That doesn't happen very often.  She was really good in Sacrament meeting.  After church we went to the Miller's for one of my favorite dinners- meatloaf.  John had made bread and bought some chocolate pies for dessert and it was all delicious.
My wedding ring didn't fit anymore since having Bentley and it would cost $300 to have my original one fixed and resized.  I was afraid it might not fit again if we have another baby, so we decided to wait a few years to do that.
We found a gorgeous fake ring at JCPenney, and with sales and a coupon it was $20 for 2 rings, so I had to get it.  My other birthday presents were cash- which I will buy some more clothes with, a movie, flowers, and gift cards to food places.  Everyone knows me so well- food and money :)

The next morning I went to the spa for a scrub and a massage which was very nice.

Holy cow, Bentley is something else when it comes to the bathtub.  He suddenly loves it more than anything else.  If we start walking toward the bathroom he gets excited.  When the water is running- his legs and arms and kicking and moving like crazy.  He gets a huge smile on his face and is giddy.  He even tries to jump out of our arms over and over again.
I don't think I have ever seen a kid that loves water so much.

Bentley is getting into everything!!!

Bentley is so intrigued by electronics.   He will move across the room so fast to get to something that makes noise and has lights.  Here is is pulling himself up on the table to get to the iPad.

He has found the stairs!!  We are going to have to put up bottom stair gates asap 

Just last week Bentley started waving and saying dada.  He will sometimes wave on command but usually it is with a major time delay.  He sometimes waves at himself.   So cute!!!

Brynlee has so many tiny toys it is hard to keep track of them all.   And of course she leaves them everywhere.   We are trying to teach her to leave them only in one place in her room so Bentley doesn't swallow them

We were planning on doing Brynlees's birthday party at the park, but had to change it last minute because the temperature dropped 20 degrees from the previous day.   So we had it had our church

Then it was present time!   Brynlee was so excited for this!   She was so excited when she opened each present and kept saying "wow mama". Or " thank you mama".   It was pretty funny and everyone was laughing at what she was saying.  

She really was spoiled as usual!!

Brynlees 4th birthday

Brynlee turned 4 on November 4th.  It was a little confusing for her because we had her birthday party a few days before and they were not celebrating it in preschool until the next day.  So she basically had 3 birthday days.  Our whole family had been sick off and on for the last week and brynlee had a nasty nose that day so I kept her home from preschool that day.

So she played with play doh and watched a movie in her room with popcorn ( one of her favorite things).

She had pizza for lunch and costco rotisserie chicken and rice for dinner ( her favorites).  We also went to Barnes and noble for her free birthday treat.

Me and the kids went for a walk.   The month of October has been perfect weather nearly every day.   I tried to take advantage of that and be outside as much as possible

Then we went back inside to play with toys. Notice ET on the blocks in the middle of the train tracks?  All brynlees idea.   

A funny thing about this day- me and the kids were all wearing a gray shirt.  I dressed them and myself, but didn't notice until late afternoon.

Finally decided it was time to cut Brynlees hair.   Her curls were gone and her hair just looked raggedy all day unless it was in a ponytail.  I think it looks much better now

Ear infection = no sleep

Poor little Bentley had his first (and hopefully last) ear infection.  He hadnt been sleeping well the night before ( worse than usual) and had a cold during the week.   It was after Brynlees birthday party and he wouldn't go to sleep.  He just cried and acted like he was in pain.  We couldn't lay him down without him crying more.  Finally around 130 am we decided to take him to the ER.  They were pretty quick and we were out of there by 3 am.  He had an infection in just the right ear.  They gave us a dose of the antibiotic in the ER so that was nice.  Bentley fell asleep in the car on the way home and we just let him sleep in the car seat so that his head would stay elevated.   We finally got to sleep around 4 am.  The worst part is I had been awake since 330 am the previous day and with only 3 hours of sleep.   It was a rough couple of days
