Meet the newest member of the family....

This is our cute new dog Frankie. We adopted him from the Hurricane animal shelter. He was named Frankie at the shelter, so it kind of stuck. He answers to that name (most of the time), so it was just easier. Frank seems way too formal to me, but Frankie is okay. As I type this, Frankie is sitting next to me with one of his paws on my leg. He is the cutest dog and so well-behaved.
John had wanted a dog for a while because he grew up with dogs. Me not so much. I got a puppy when I turned 13, which I loved, but he was also a huge pain. He was always getting into things and chewing everything up and I had to clean up messes in the house all the time. I do not have the time or patience to train a new puppy right now. Plus, I am kind of a neat freak but don't want to spend all my time cleaning up dog hair. And with living in a townhouse, there isn't tons of room and we only have a small backyard with no grass. So I told John he could get a dog when we moved to a bigger house (which would be 4-5 years). But.... we went to Zion for our 6 month anniversary and I couldn't sleep that night. The Dog Whisperer was on tv and for some reason I was watching it. The next morning I told John I was thinking about getting a dog more. Well, by the end of the day we had been to several animal shelters and already bought a dog house. I don't think it is right to pay $200-300 or more for a puppy (especially because I don't want to train them) when there are so many dogs in shelters that need a home, so that's why we went that route. I can't tell you how much I would love to have a puppy, but, oh well.

So Frankie came to live with us on February 4th.
Not once has he had an accident in the house. I have only heard him bark a few times when he is outside and other dogs are barking. He never bites and is very good and patient with kids. He is very calm and relaxed and sleeps most of the day. He gets so excited to go on walks and is making me exercise everyday. He follows me from room to room and usually wants to be right next to me.
Seriously, I love this guy so much already. He provides constant entertainment, as evidenced by the pictures below. We layed down for a Sunday nap, but Frankie decided to join us. He loves to cuddle up to John.

John's sister Hollie made our family some Valentine's cookies. They were good. Frankie really wanted to eat his.

We were laughing our heads off at this because he was holding the covers up with his arm for a few minutes.

Precious :)

This is the bed we bought him, which is a little small, but he survives.
Frankie was actually our 2nd choice because we were told he was 4 years old at first. We kind of wanted a younger dog so it would last longer, so we found another pug/beagle mix that was 1 year old at another shelter. We were going to get "Arthur", but he was already adopted by then. It turns out John knew the person that adopted him and we asked how it was going. He said "Arthur" was kind of wild and had a lot of accidents. I was sooooooo glad we had Frankie instead. We have the perfect dog!

P.S. There is tons of new stuff, so keep scrolling down.
