11 months- October 4, 2011

Brynlee is sooo close to walking. It will be any day now! She has walked about 4 steps several times, but is not consistent. I can sense her frustration but I'm okay with her not walking yet.

Once she is walking, that means she has to wear shoes and she has weird feet. I couldn't find any shoes that fit her fit for a long time (her feet are wide), then when I finally do, they take like 5 minutes to put on then fall off in about 10 seconds. Plus, I can't believe how expensive baby shoes are. There is no reason a 4 inch pair of shoes should cost $15 (in my opinion).

Brynlee loves to get into trouble and tries to do it all day long. There are many things she knows she shouldn't do (such as play with the shampoo bottle in the bathtub, chew on our cell phones, rip books, etc.) but she does it anyway and looks over at us to see what we think. Then then we tell her "No" or jokingly get really mad, she drops it and crawls away really fast. She laughs which then makes us laugh. It's hard to actually get mad at her. She is such a stinker sometimes! She also has recently decided that her toys are not that fun anymore and doesn't really want to play with them. So she just crawls around looking for trouble.

We recently found out how much Brynlee loves Elmo and Sesame Street. I don't think its possible for anyone to get more excited than she does when she hears Elmo's voice or the Elmo's world song. Sesame Street is a nice change from Baby Einstein, but Mr. Noodle is beyond annoying.

I was thinking about Brynlee's food habits and realized there is not one thing that we have given her that she didn't like. She may have not liked it in the form it was in (such as pureed squash) but will eat it in another day just fine. She still has days (at least once a week) where no matter what I try to feed her she doesn't want it. She just wants her bottle. I'm not sure how to handle it when she needs to stop drinking bottles next month.

When I give Brynlee bit size pieces of food on her high chair, she often shoves them all in her mouth at the same time. Then because of her hyperactive gag reflex she will throw up everything. Hopefully that will get better with time because she doesn't seem to learn very quick that when something isn't pleasant to stop doing it!

Brynlee has decided to forgo her afternoon nap most days. It makes for a very long day. She will wake up around 8 or 8:30, take a nap around 11 for 1.5 hours, then when she won't take an afternoon nap she is ready for bed at 7 PM. It's nice for us to have that long time period at night, but it's not really fun when we have to be home before 7 PM.

Brynlee finally says Mama! She was holding out on me for a long time!!!! She doesn't really have any other words that actually mean anything that I know of. She says da which I'm beginning to wonder if that is dog because she says it around Frank a lot.

Brynlee also gives the best kisses in the whole world! Sometimes she just won't stop giving kisses (and we're not complaining) and other times we really have to force them out of her, but either way they are like heaven!

My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is when Brynlee snuggles in my nap and/or gives me kisses or hugs. She almost never snuggles so when she does I will forget everything on my to-do list and just sit.

Oh, how we love this little girl. She has made our life full of happiness and laughter. I can't even imagine how I would live without her. It doesn't seem real that she will be one in a few weeks!

This is the only sippy cup she will drink from. Loves ice water in it.

We bought this little turtle shaped swimming pool for the backyard. Brynlee likes it and I'm sure she will like it more next summer.

She likes to make funny noises with her mouth and this is her in action :)

A girl that John used to work with made the sports tutu for Brynlee right after she was born. Good thing for John it's BYU blue so it matches her BYU shirt.

Aren't they just so cute together?

She is reminding everyone that BYU is # 1!

Frank on the backyard swing. Still makes me laugh every time.
