Brynlee

This is how brynlee's room looks most mornings...  Books all over her bed, but she is often sleeping on the floor because there is no room for her on the bed

 

We have made a lot of changes in Brynlee's room lately.  We took the changing pad and diapers out (even though they are still in the picture) and added her Barbie house.  She will play with the Barbie house by herself for a few minutes at a time, but like everything else wants to play with it more at bedtime or when I need her to do something...

Brynlees major surgery was 1 year ago.  It's crazy to think how much has changed since then

There is a cute family in our ward that needed some help with their 2 kids, so we brought them over to play.  The girls had fun dressing up.

 This is Brynlees's 2nd day of preschool/ summer camp.  We call it preschool but it is really more of a summer camp.  I didn't manage to get a picture of her first day so the 2nd day had to do.  She is telling me the sun is in her eyes.  I have sure enjoyed the 2.5 hours break 3 days a week.  Brynlee often doesn't want to go, but she always has fun when she is there.  We have had to bribe her every week with a small present to get her to go.

We have been working on spelling brynlee's name for a while.  She can recognize it and say the letters in order, so I had her try and write it.  I was shocked that the first time I asked her to spell her name and she did pretty good with sidewalk chalk.  Her E's have a few too many lines and the Y looks more like a T, but pretty good try.

Next we practiced her name in play dough.  Getting better...

We signed brynlee up for swimming lessons this summer.  They were Monday through Thursday for 40 minutes 2 weeks in a row.  There were only 4 kids in the class and her teacher was really good with them.  Brynlee learned to kick and do arm strokes and put her face under water.  She passed the class and is now in the next level- pre 2.  Her current class has kids that are much older and are pretty crazy.  The teacher spends a lot of time telling the other kids to listen and brynlee sometimes follows them when they are being bad.  I don't know if she will learn as much from this class.
