Zion National Park

There was a fee-free day at Zion National Park in April, so very last minute we decided to take advantage of it.  We couldn't leave until early afternoon, and by the time we got gas in the car and stopped at a grocery store for picnic staples, it was already 5PM.  We weren't planning on doing much hiking, but decided once we got there that it was definetely too late to hike, so we ate our picnic in the car (boring!, but it was too windy to sit outside) and hopped on the bus.  We rode the bus to the lodge and played outside on the grass for a little while.  The sun had already set behind the mountains, so we couldn't stay very long.
The best part was when Brynlee and I were running around on the grass and we found a grasshopper on the sidewalk.  I would put my foot up to it and it would jump, which would make Brynlee scream with excitement.  She thought that was sooo funny.  So we played with the grasshopper for a while, then hurried to get on the bus back to our car.  We got some ice cream on our way out of town also.  It was a very short trip, but really fun.  Maybe next time we will do some hiking!
