We have now made it a tradition (2 years in a row) to go to New Harmony for the 4th of July. The temperatures are 10+ degrees cooler than St. George and we love the small town festivities. The parade goes around the block twice so it is more than 5 minutes long. They have yummy hamburgers and chips to buy for lunch and free games for the kids. The best part for the Miller family is the horseshoe contest. First place is $50 and last year John's dad and sister won. None of the Miller's got that lucky this year, but still had fun.
Love the cute outfit (courtesy of Aunt Sue of course!)
Waiting for the parade to start
Not the best picture- but was trying to capture the park
The parade royalty painted faces for free. Brynlee sat so still while they painted her face. She had a cute firework on her cheek.
Cupcakes! Brynlee's favorite part
Playing with her cousin Jaxson (and kissing him)
We did fireworks at our house before we went to the city fireworks. As you can tell it wasn't very dark. Brynlee was scared to death of them and wouldn't even look.
After the fireworks at home we went up on Foremaster Ridge to watch the city fireworks. We had already given Brynlee a bath so she wasn't allowed to play in the dirt. She had a hard time sitting still and waiting for the fireworks to start.
Thankfully we were fare enough away that they weren't loud and scary. She didn't seem to care that much about them though.
